Chopin Frederic - Valses
Frederic Chopin's waltzes are medium-length pieces that observe the traditional 3/4 waltz time, but are markedly different from earlier Viennese waltzes in that they were written not for dance but for concert performance. Some of them are easier and do not require much skill, but the more difficult ones require virtuoso technique. Chopin began writing waltzes in 1824, when he was fourteen years old, and continued until the year of his death in 1849. He wrote 36 in total, of which 20 are numbered.
